STREAM SPECIALIST

Successful candidates will perform extensive field work, stream surveys, stream geomorphic assessments, and restoration monitoring. This position will also work with multi-disciplinary teams to complete stream restoration design, construction plans, and construction oversight.

Candidates must have a B.S. or M.S. in environmental or biological systems engineering, geology, environmental science, geomorphology, aquatic ecology, or other related field. Experience with Microstation, GIS, Rivermorph, HEC-RAS, and Rosgen/Natural Channel Design or other related training is preferred.

ECOLOGICAL CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATOR
Our Ecological Construction Division specializes in stream restoration, wetland construction, pond/lake construction, LID component construction and shoreline stabilization. Construction Administrators are well-organized, and are responsible for two primary tasks:

  • Ensure timely execution of project through organization of project components.
  • Ensure projects are completed on budget by assuming ownership of project cost (i.e., labor, materials, and subcontractors) review/execution.

The Ecological Construction Administrator (ECA) is in direct contact with assigned site superintendent(s), and responsible for facilitation/status of all project tasks. They are able to foster teamwork among the site superintendent(s) and crew members to facilitate efficient execution of projects. Site superintendents look to their ECA for assistance in obtaining anything required for execution of the project.

Specific Tasks Include (but may not be limited to):

  • Direct coordination with the Site Superintendent (at least twice/day)
  • Regular site visits (includes photographing the project and coordinating with the Superintendent)
  • Creation and upkeep of project job books (office and field copies)
  • Maintaining daily job logs (includes general notes and obtaining signatures for any contract changes)
  • Purchase orders & similar approvals
  • Ordering and staging site materials (as per bid contract or in coordination with the Superintendent)
  • Timesheet review
  • Coordinate project approvals, scheduling, submittals, etc.
  • Safety inspections
  • Invoicing
  • Coordinate truck & equipment weekly reports
  • Project Submittals
  • Project client, engineer and inspector interactions

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER (ENTRY LEVEL)
The (entry level) Environmental Engineer's primary responsibilities include engineering design and CADD production. Preferred candidates have a minimum of a BS degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering and possess good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work within a team environment, and knowledge of some or all of the following engineering tasks:

  • Lakes, ponds, and BMP design
  • Hydrology and hydraulic modeling
  • Grading and drainage principles
  • Stormwater management planning
  • Floodplain studies
  • Wetland design
  • Stream restoration design

Preferred software experience:

  • CADD
  • Pond Routing
  • TR-55
  • HEC-RAS
  • HEC-HMS
  • Culvert Sizing
  • Microsoft Office Suite Apps

WETLAND ECOLOGIST (ENTRY LEVEL)
The (entry level) Wetland Ecologist's primary responsibilities include performing a variety of environmental assessment tasks, including fieldwork and document preparation related to wetland evaluation and delineations, wetland mitigation feasibility and design, stream assessment and restoration, and pond and lake evaluation and management. Qualified candidates have a BA/BS in ecology, biology, plant or soil sciences, or other related environmental sciences and excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills. Experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and/or knowledge of Federal/State environmental regulations is a plus.
